I am so excited for this new year and what a wonderful time to go on the lemonade cleanse. I go on this cleanse on average about once per year. It is a great way to rejuvenate the mind, body, and spirit. I started this practice about 5 years ago and it has been a tradition ever since.
You may not realize how much your body needs a break from processing and digesting foods, but it is vitally important. By giving your body a rest you will be able to assimilate the nutrients and vitamins that are in your foods when you start eating again. That is if you are feeding yourself the most nutrient dense and healthy living foods possible.
How long you stay on the cleanse will depend on your own body type. If you already eat fairly well, are vegan, and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables then you can go less time. There are things that you should consider when going on this lemonade cleanse.
- Read the booklet titled Master Cleanse, by Stanley Burroughs
- Make sure you have time to rest the first few days
- Be committed to your greatest health and well being
- Create a menu plan for after your cleanse
- Always listen to your body and do what feel best for you
I have gone 22 days before and felt great. I feel I have an abundance of energy on the lemonade cleanse, but people will have different results depending on the amounts of built up toxins in the body. This is where people may think that the cleanse is making them feel badly because when there are accumulated toxins in the body it doesn’t feel so great as they are being cleansed out. These are detox symptoms. If you are experiencing this then drink plenty of water and rest.
If you feel you need a gentler approach then instead of a lemonade cleanse, go on a raw food cleanse eating only fruit or vegetables for a couple of weeks. I guarantee you will be filled with energy and will feel better than you have felt in a long time. The key is to not get sidetracked by the physical, emotional, and mental detox symptoms, those will pass.
The only thing you want to make sure of is that you get really good, organic, ripe lemons. Many lemons you find in the stores are picked prematurely and therefore are more acidic. I am lucky to know someone with one of the most abundant lemon trees I have ever seen. Ask around at your local health food stores or farmers markets to see where you can get some good lemons.
I really want to send my love and gratitude to everyone who is reading this now. Just for the simple fact that if you are aware of your health then that is the first step to creating healthy changes in your life. I am so proud of you.
If you need more guidance with this or anything else you are experiencing on your spiritual path you can schedule a session with me.
